The Clockwork Crown Clockwork Dagger Novels Book 2 eBook Beth Cato

At least as good as the first. Some terrible things happen, and some sad or bittersweet, but all the painful necessities, amazing discoveries and breath-stealing dangers lead to a highly satisfying ending. I really like both Octavia and Alonzo, and Leaf, and Mrs. Stout. We get to see some new places (the advanced and prosperous southern nations' attitude toward magic is frustrating, and the Tree is fascinating **no spoilers**) and meet some interesting new characters (good, bad, and shades of gray, from the man who created the gremlins, to someone utterly unexpected whom I certainly can't name here), as well as seeing some new shades/sides to characters already introduced (including Laskay the Dallowsman "infernal", Miss Percival the betrayer, and the Lady Herself). I do get to pat myself on the back for having speculatively considered what did turn out to be the karmicly perfect way things worked out when it seemed heartbreakingly impossible. I'm glad there's at least an epilogue story available.
P.S. I apologize for the way my sentence structures seem to get more convoluted the more enthusiastic I am.. I suppose I should go back with editorial pruning shears, but "I yam what I yam."

The Clockwork Crown Clockwork Dagger Novels Book 2 eBook Beth Cato Reviews

If you like the Clockwork Dagger, you'll like Clockwork Crown! Action packed, and great resolution to the story.
This is a new genre for me and I am enjoying it thoroughly. I do hope there is more to this series!
Fantastic read! Magic and gadgets aplenty. It's nice to read a great story with hints of attraction and not littered with gratuitous sex every other page. The romance is there but is only part of the story. Please keep writing! If not more adventures in this world created a new one. If there were 10 stars available I would have given them!!!!!
I enjoyed the world building, I quite liked the characters, although there weren't a great many and they weren't incredibly complex. The fantasy element concept I really enjoyed, and the romantic elements didn't really interfere too much. All in all, a lovely, simply read with some interesting fantasy element mixed within a steam-punky world. I will definitely read more of the author.
I love this book. I recommend you buy at least three copies. One to read, one to give to a friend (you can buy multiples if you are lucky enough to have more than one friend) and one to keep in your library. You won't be disappointed.
I liked this book even better than the previous one, Clockwork Dagger (and really the two should be treated as one book). That set up an intriguing world full of danger and potential war, with Octavia the Healer someone making her way through it with the help of renegade Dagger Alonzo. In this one, Octavla comes into her own. Maybe even too much so - I won't say more and spoil the story. But I liked the way this pulled all the threads together and brought it to a satisfying conclusion.
My hat's off to .Ms Cato! I really enjoyed The Clockwork Dagger but the Clockwork Crown was even better. Since I knew of the 2nd book the first book left no doubt that Octavia would live, but in this 2nd book there was doubt towards the end as if Octavia would survive and in what format or degree.

Read this Book! There are truly evil characters to balance out the hero's/heroine. Old friends return, as do old adversaries. In this book Ms Cato more fully fills out the characters. Few are either all bad or all good. The end was not predictable, but it was elegant. I hope this becomes a series, even if I have to pay full price for each volume and wait a year or more to know.
