Meet Me When the Sun Goes Down Forged Bloodlines Book 2 eBook Lisa Olsen
I'm finding that the best way to review long series is to start with book one and update the review as I move through the books. In general Lisa Olson does a good job with this series. I have completed through book 10 but really feel like the series should have ended at book 8 (book 9 and 10 are 3 stars at best). Anja makes a good heroine, she does not completely fall into the trap of turning on the water works all the time, though there are more than I like in a strong character. My biggest complaint about the first 8 books is that if felt like the author held her punches. Powerful story arcs seemed to resolve themselves far to quickly (and neatly) at their conclusion, the romance(s) came up short of being really steamy (though I will say the heat turned up in books 9 & 10), and the back and forth - he loves me, he loves me not - seemed to drag on just a bit to much. My last qualm would be the timeline -at last count the entire 10 book series happens over about 2 years and I just can't figure out why it's so compacted, a longer timeline would have made events more believable. Olsen's work here is not up to the level of the heavy hitters but I have enjoyed the read.Product details

Meet Me When the Sun Goes Down Forged Bloodlines Book 2 eBook Lisa Olsen Reviews
Second book is as good as the first. Looking forward to number three. Characters remain interesting and so does the plot. Things keep moving along in a way that makes sense and keeps me turning the pages. Well written and no filler or segues into meaningless territory just to add pages. Bishop and Anja are a great pair and the characters that surround them are likable and sometimes dangerous and questionable. It's a different take on vamps and how they make their way through the world. It's about embracing who you have become and letting go of who you once were. It's about love and survival. It's about circumventing the status quo and forging new paths. It's a really good series. Don't miss it.
I read this back to back from the first book. Wake me when the sun goes down. I really enjoyed them. Anja is a great character.
I think one of the things I like best about this book is it reminds me of early Sookie books before they jumped the shark. We get quite a bit of Jakob in this book. I started to really like him. Bishop is so angst ridden, I am trying to decide if I am team bishop or Jakob.
Okay mystery, but I knew who it was the whole time. The build up was good. I liked finding out more about Rob. He is a favorite and I look forward to finding out more. If you liked the first one grab it. It is just as good. I would start with the first book in the series, the third Will be out this Spring.
3.5 Stars
I was hooked after reading the first book in this series, Wake me when the sun goes down. I enjoyed getting to know Bishop and Anja. But in the second installment I found myself getting annoyed with both of them. Anja was very weak and wouldn't stand up for herself even as Bishop kept pushing her away. Bishop finally stood up and said he wanted her, but by that time I didn't care if they got together or not. They both seem very immature to me. Even after they sleep together they act like a pair of awkward teenagers. I liked Jakob's character a lot more in this book. He's cocky and conceded but he wasn't mean to Anja in the least. I could see a great relationship happening between the two of them, so long as Anja stops being so whiny. I called the bad guy right away but that didn't stop me from enjoying the build up. I also really like Rob's character and can't wait to find out more about him. I did notice quite a few typos which had me re-reading the sentences over to make sense of them. Over all though, it was another great book.
I jumped into this, the second book in the series without any doubt... I instantly finished reading book #1 and found myself one-clicking my way to the next one, simply because I HAD to know what happen next with Anja and Bishop, Jakob and the rest of the cast....
For a second book in a series, this one was pretty awesome. It had all the right elements the plot got richer, we got to know the characters better and were introduced to new ones, there's a mystery around our girl, someone is trying to harm her... theres drama, action, guns, blood but what didn't allow me to give this book a five-star rating was two things #1 the hot and cold rollercoaster love-ride anja and Bishop seem to be stuck in.
I mean...will you please make up your freaking mind?? and #2 the way the author played Jakob as the other part in this triangle love affair... I felt he deserved a better antagonistic role !!!
Let me add I am not going to jump into book # 3 as quickly as I did before...........sorry Bishop !!
This is the second book in the Forged Bloodlines series. This one picks up exactly where the first one left off.
Anja is a newly turned vampire, but she is different from other "noobs". She is strong and faster and her blood tests show her to be much older than she is. Her sire, Jakob has not yet stepped up to claim her as his. So Bishop, an enforcer with the Order has stepped in to mentor her into her new life. Jakob is an "Ellri" an elder of sorts, he is one of the first vampires, he was born not made. That also makes him something of royalty to the vampire community. As such he is not answerable to their laws.
Anja is finally settling in to her new life and still trying to fit into her old one as well. She is attending college on a music scholarship. She and Bishop have come to an understanding about their relationship, and so far no interference from Jacob.
But somebody in the vampire community is not happy with Anja. They have broken into her apartment and destroyed everything, left the blinds open so she was burned while she slept, some of her classmates have turned their back on her spreading viscous rumors about her, and attacked her sister.
To complicate things, Jakob shows up and what to spend time with her. Which means Bishop has to break it off with her. He cant lay claim to her when she belongs to Jakob.
I liked this second book as much as the first. I really like the characters, and the stories are well written. We were left with a bit of a cliff hanger that sets up the next book. I look forward to how Anja and Bishop with work through this new bump in their road.
